Today we decorated our hallway with Vowel Bats. Vowel Bat is a song that we sing in class almost everyday. Almost all of us have our vowels memorized now! Ask your student to sing it for you sometime, I'm sure they would be thrilled! I think our new hallway display is perfect for the fall season. We kept our beautiful fall leaves. They are just too pretty to take down.
Sorry that this week has been a couple posts short. It has been a busy week for me with trainings and meetings. I apologize. Just a reminder: I sent home picture day flyers today. Picture day is October 15th. I have been out the last couple of days to attend a teacher training. But as soon as I got back I knew I wanted to have the kids start the writing portion of their picturing writing. We talked a lot about sunset before starting the painting process. Once I modeled and taught new painting techniques I let the kids get painting. The sunsets turned out great! Now it was time to write we took time as a class to brainstorm words for the sky and the sun. Then we got to work. Each student got to use a stand to hold their painting while they were writing so they could look back at their work while writing for inspiration and to make sure they were using words that fit their art.
